Away Game Directions

The schools at which JRDS plays away games are listed alphabetically below. Amelon Elementary School
Take 29 Business North into Madison Heights. Stay on 29 past Sheetz and the Amelon Square Shopping Center. Look for Monelison Fire Dept. and a car wash on your right. Turn between them onto Amer Drive.  The address is 132 Amer Circle, Madison Heights, VA 24572, in case you want to use GPS.

Appomattox Middle School
Take US-460 E toward Appomattox.  At Appomattox, take the US-460 BUS E/VA-26 N exit toward Appomattox/Bent Creek.  At the end of the ramp, turn right onto US-460 BUS E/Confederate Blvd and go 0.9 mi.  Turn right onto Court Street / State Route 9020 at the third stoplight, your destination will be on the right after 266 ft.

Buckingham County High School
Take US-460 East toward Appomattox. At Appomattox, take the VA-24 S/VA-131 S exit toward County Rd 60 go about 0.1 mi and take a slight left onto VA-24 E/Old Courthouse Rd.  Continue to follow VA-24 E into Buckingham Countyi.  A few miles after you enter Buckingham County, VA-24 converges with US-60 E and is named W James Anderson Hwy; go 5.9 mi.  Then turn left onto Alt Route 690E/High School Rd  and go 0.5 mi.  Take the 2nd right onto Knights Rd.  The high school will be on the left.  Address:  Buckingham High School, 78 Knights Road, Buckingham, Virginia 23921

Blue Ridge LAX
These teams play their games at Blackwater Creek Park in Lynchburg.  To get there, go to the intersection of Old Forest Road and Lakeside Drive (the one near Lynchburg College & JOJO Pizza).  Turn onto Old Forest Road and go about one block to the first right, which is Monticello Avenue.  Go up the hill; the park entrance will be on the left in a tight curve.  GPS address is 515 Monticello Avenue, Lynchburg, 24501. 

Carlisle School - Woodlawn
Take 29 South to Chatham; pass both Chatham exits and keep south on 29.  When you reach the intersection at Tightsqueeze (with a traffic light),  you will see a Hardees, a McDonald's, and several gas stations.  Turn left at this intersection.  Carlisle School - Woodlawn will be a short distance down on your right.  For GPS, the address is 956 Woodlawn Academy Rd., Chatham, VA 24531.

Cave Spring Recreation (Boys' LAX)
Plays at Green Hill Park – Salem, VA.
Starting at 5039 BOONSBORO RD, turn left out of the parking lot. 
1.    Turn Right on BOONSBORO RD(US-501) toward Big Island.
2.    Continue to follow US-501 - go about 21 mi
3.    Bear Left on VA-130 - go 6.3 mi
4.    Turn Left on S LEE HWY(US-11) toward ROANOKE - go1.7 mi
5.    Bear Right on US-11 - go 0.2 mi
6.    Turn Left to take ramp onto I-81 S toward US-11 S/ROANOKE - go 38.9 mi
7.    Take exit #137/SALEM (VA-619) - go 0.2 mi
8.    Turn Right on WILDWOOD RD(VA-112 S) - go 0.6 mi
9.    Turn Right on W MAIN ST(US-11) - go 0.7 mi
10.    Turn Left on DIUGUIDS LN - go 0.3 mi

Central Virginia Lacrosse Club:
From Lynchburg, take 460 E toward Bedford. Take the first Bedford exit (main St.). Go through the town center, then take a left onto 4th street.  Go under railroad underpass and take a left at fork onto Bedford Avenue Extension (signs will point you to Elks Home).  Field is on right after you pass the baseball fields.

Covenant Middle School
Merge onto US-29 N via the ramp to Charlottesville
Merge onto I-64 E via the ramp to Richmond
Take exit 120 for VA-631 toward 5th St/Charlottesville
Turn right at VA-631 S/5th St Exit
Turn left at Co Rd 631/Stagecoach Rd
Take the 1st left onto County Road 1113/Oak Hill Dr
Take the 1st right onto Hickory St
Turn right; destination will be on the left

Darden Towe Park for St. Anne's Belfield Cross Country Invitational
Take 29 North to Charlottesville.  At Charlottesville this becomes Rt. 250 Bypass towards Pantops Mountain.  Follow this until you turn onto Route 20 North (Stony Point Rd.)  Then turn left onto Elk Ridge Drive to Park entrance about 1/2 mile. 

Desmond T. Doss Junior Academy
Take 29 South toward Danville. Go past the Lynchburg Regional Airport. When you see Sheetz coming up on your right, get in the left lane. At the light at Sheetz, turn left onto Russell Woods Drive. Then take the first street to the right, George Street. This will take you to the school.

Faith Christian Academy
Take 29S to Altavista. Take the 4th Altavista exit. At the end of the exit ramp, go left towards downtown Altavista. Go about 1 mi. and turn right onto Main Street. Stay on Main until you cross the bridge into Hurt. Go under the train trestle, then look for the green roof of Faith Christian Academy on the right.

Forest Youth Athletic Association Fields (aka Jump Park)
Take Rt. 221 west out of Lynchburg. Go toward Forest.  When you see the Forest Library on your left, be ready to turn left at the next light.  At that light, turn left on Rt. 811 (Thomas Jefferson Road).  Stay on Thomas Jefferson Road through the light at Bateman Bridge Rd and straight through the light at the intersection with Waterlick Rd.  Soon after you go through that light, you will see the FYAA fields on your left.  There are three moderate size soccer fields, then a baseball field, and then another soccer/lacrosse field with parking close to each field.

Hyland Heights Baptist Church
Take 29 S (Wards Road) towards Danville.  From the Sheetz near Chik-fil-a on Wards Road to the church is about 4.75 mi.  The church is a large brick on the left set up on a hill. If you get as far as Foster Fuels, you have gone about .1 mi too far.  GPS address is 11452 Wards Rd, Rustburg, VA 24588.

Lexington (Brewbaker Field)
Take Route 501 North to Buena Vista. In Buena Vista, pick up Rt. 60 West to Lexington. Cross over I-81 and continue towards Lexington.  You will eventually come down a long grade that gives you a good view of the outlying part of town, with a K-mart, car dealerships, and gas stations clearly in view. Go past K-Mart and Long John Silvers on your left. We will eventually take the Rt. 11 Bypass South. Go under the Bypass and take an immediate left. There is no turn lane so be careful! Once you are on the Bypass take a right at the first light. Take your first right onto Waddell St. Go to the first stop sign (Maury River M.S. will be on the right) and turn left. Go approximately 1/4 mile and Brewbaker Field is on the right.

Nelson County Middle School
The high school and middle school are combined in Nelson.  Take 29N into Nelson County.  The school will be on your left (approx. 10 minutes after crossing the bridge) Take a left on Drumheller Lane and follow around to the back of the school.  The cross country course is located behind the school at the athletic fields.

North Cross School
Take Rt. 460 west out of Lynchburg all the way to Roanoke. In Roanoke, 460 becomes Orange Ave. As you go through the intersection with Williamson Rd. (Rt. 11), get ready to take the 2nd right-hand exit onto Rt. 581 South. Stay on 581 to the exit for Rt. 419 / Electric Rd. Turn onto 419, pass under a railroad overpass and continue to the Colonial Ave. intersection. North Cross will be on your left and a strip mall will be on your right. Turn left onto Colonial Ave. You will almost immediately turn left into the school drive and bear to the right. The gymnasium and fields will be on your left toward the end of the parking lot.

Roanoke Catholic
Take Rt. 460 west out of Lynchburg all the way to Roanoke. In Roanoke, 460 becomes Orange Ave.  Turn left onto Williamson Rd. NW; go 0.6 mi and take a right onto Shenandoah Ave. NE.  Go 0.2 mi and take 2nd right onto North Jefferson St.  The school will be on your right.  GPS address is 621 North Jefferson St., Roanoke, VA 24016.

Roanoke Valley Lacrosse Association (Directions for Girls' Lax at River's Edge Park)
Take 460 W to Roanoke, and then take Rt. 220/581 South. Take the Wonju Street exit. Make a left at the light onto Franklin Road. Go through the two lights, and the fields are on the right across from the Ramada Inn. Additional parking for River's Edge Park and Reserve Avenue fields-there is a parking garage at the corner of McClanahan and Crystal Spring (2001 Crystal Spring Avenue, Roanoke, Va 24014). Please park on the second, third, or top level and obey all signage so that cars are not towed at owners expense.

Sacred Heart School
Take 29S toward Danville. Go approximately 31 miles. Turn slight right onto 29 Business South, and go 8 miles. Make a U-turn at Boxwood Court and go one-tenth mile on 29 Business North (this is also known as Central Boulevard). Sacred Heart is located at 540 Central Blvd., Danville.

St. Anne's-Belfield (STAB) in Charlottesville:
For the Lower School, take 29 North to Charlottesville. After passing the I-64 interchange, follow 29/250 Bypass to the Barracks Road exit. Take that exit, then turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp, and then immediately turn left again to get back on the 250/29 Bypass going the other direction. Once back on the 250/29 Bypass, take the very next exit onto Rt. 601. While on that exit ramp, take an immediate right onto Faulconer Drive. (If you go under a train overpass, you've gone too far.) There is small maroon and white sign that says "St. Anne's-Belfield School." Go up the curvy hill next to the white fence and you are at the entrance to the Lower School.

To reach the Middle and Upper Schools, take Rt. 29 North to Charlottesville. After passing the intersection/cloverleaf for I-64, follow the Rt. 29 & 250 Bypass west 2.5 miles to the Rt. 250 Business / Ivy Road exit., turn right at the top of the Ivy Road exit ramp, follow Rt. 250 Business 0.8 mile, through the stoplight, and the St. Anne's-Belfield Middle and Upper campus is on the right.

Temple Christian School
Take 29 Business North into Madison Heights.  You will pass a Pizza Hutt, Chevron gas station, and a Wachovia Bank on your left.  The entrance to Temple Christian will be at the next traffic signal.  This is just before 84 Lumber.  If you pass 84 Lumber on your right, turn around and go back, as you've gone too far.  Turn right into the Temple Christian campus at the light before 84 Lumber and proceed down the driveway to the main parking lot.  You'll see the soccer fields to the right of the drive. For events held in their gymnasium, they do charge admission.

Timberlake Christian School
From the intersection of Old Forest Rd. & 221, take 221/Forest Rd. west toward Forest.  After the Graves Mill Shopping Center, get in the left lane. Turn left onto Enterprise Drive at the Walgreen's.  Stay on Enterprise all the way through to Laxton Road.  Turn right on to Laxton Road.  Follow Laxton through two sharp bends.  When the road forks, veer left onto Rainbow Forest Drive.  After climbing the hill, turn right onto Jefferson Drive.  Go through the bottom, and as you crest the hill, turn left onto Horizon Drive.  Go about a block and a half, Timberlake Christian will be on your left on Horizon Drive.

Westover Christian Academy
Take US-29 S towards Danville.  At Danville, take a slight right onto US-29 Bus. South, and then go  8.7 mi.  Next, exit onto US-58 BUS W / Riverside Drive toward Martinsville and go 4.5 mi.  Make a U-turn at Parkway Drive and your destination will be on the right after 407 ft.

William Campbell High School (for basketball games v. William Campbell Middle School)
From Lynchburg, take US-501 S toward Rustburg.  At the intersection of 501 & 24 in Rustburg, turn right onto Village Hwy/US-501/VA-24. As you leave Rustburg, US-501 becomes Brookneal Hwy when VA-24 splits off to the right.  Do not follow VA-24; continue to follow US-501 straight towards Brookneal.  Stay on 501 through Gladys.  Watch for Scott Lane on your left.  Go 0.5 miles past Scott Lane and turn right onto Railview Rd.  (If you reach Lewis Ford Rd. you've gone about 0.2 miles too far.)  Go 0.4 mi on Railview, then take the 1st right.  You should see William Campbell High School. (If you reach Whipping Creek Rd you've gone about 0.5 miles too far; go back.)
