Congratulations to the following JRDS graduates (class of 2006), who will be attending college in fall 2010: Zach Wright, UVA; Sydna Mundy, UVA; Reed Taylor, Penn State; Blair Blanchette, UVA; Robert Lambeth, Princeton; Davis Moore, UVA; and Cullen Graves, Sewanee. Congratulations also to former student Charlie Owen, who is entering the University of Mississippi Honors Program in fall 2010. You all know how to make your former teachers so proud!
Congratulations to former JRDS student Nate Buhler and alumnus Max McCrary ('07), who both just attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Felicitations to Hollis Barksdale Capshaw ('99) and her husband, Bill, on the birth of their son, Lawson, in January 2010.
Did you know that Suzanne Halka ('01) will be leading a drama camp at Lynchburg Parks and Recreation this summer? How cool is that?!
Karen Butler ('06) is this year's recipient of the Rotary Club Code of Ethics Award. She is a senior at Holy Cross High School.
Diane Girling ('07) was recently elected to the Cum Laude Society at Virginia Episcopal School. The Cum Laude Society is the equivalent of the National Honor Society.
Several JRDS alums were selected to serve in leadership positions at VES next year. Serving as counselors are: Natalie Coleman ('07), Diane Girling ('07), and Dixon Moore ('07). Diane Girling will also be chair of the Honor Committee.

We are very proud to announce the JRDS alumni who received Community Service Honor Awards at VES this year. Blair Alford ('07) and Dixon Moore ('07) were Gold Winners with 250+ service hours. Bronze Winners with 100-174 service hours were Noell Cosby ('08), Katie Nylund ('08), and James Scott ('09).
Katie Sue Zellner, a former JRDS student, will be joining Teach America this summer where she will be teaching in New York CIty in the fall. Her sister Maggie Zellner, also a former JRDS student, will be doing an internship this summer with Seventeen magazine in New York City.
